Privacy Policy

From the FreeAvail team.
1. Who we are
FreeAvail is a free website for painting when you are free so a group can see where times overlap. You do not need an account. This policy describes what the site actually stores and shares today.
2. No account, anonymous sign-in
We do not ask you to create a username or password. When you open the site, Firebase Authentication signs you in anonymously in the background. That gives your browser a random user id so we can save your availability and keep other people from overwriting it. Returning to the same browser usually reuses that id. A new browser or a cleared site data starts a new anonymous session.
3. What we store
Event data lives in Google Firestore. For a typical group event we store:
- The event: title, the host’s anonymous user id, date and time window, event type (group or 1:1), and created/updated timestamps.
- Each participant: the name you type, the times you paint, the event code, your anonymous user id, and an optional email if you choose to leave one.
- 1:1 bookings (if you use that mode): the booked slot, guest name, guest email, and any meeting link you pasted in.
Other people on the same event link can see names and painted times. They can also see an email if one was saved on that event.
Email is optional when you join a group event. You can skip that step. If you type an email, we save it on your availability row so the host can reach you.
4. Email we may send
Group events do not send mail just because you painted a grid. If someone books a 1:1 slot and EmailJS is configured, we may send a booking confirmation to the guest and a notice to the host, using the emails stored on that booking and event. We do not send marketing mail.
5. Partner and sponsored links
Some pages show sponsored or partner links; if you click one, that site's own policy applies, and we may earn a commission. Those cards are not on the availability grid. We do not sell your event data to them.
6. Crash reports
If error tracking is turned on, the app may send crash reports to Sentry. Those reports can include the error, technical browser details, and the anonymous Firebase user id. We do not use this to build a marketing profile.
7. What stays on your device
Your browser may keep the anonymous Firebase session, a theme preference (light or dark), and a flag that you have seen the tutorial. Clearing site data for freeavail.com removes that local state.
8. How long we keep event data
The host can delete an event from the app, which removes that event and its availability rows. Event data is kept until the host deletes the event in the app.
We do not currently run a production job you can rely on to wipe events automatically after a set number of days.
9. Children
FreeAvail is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child under 13 used the site, the host can delete the event in the app.
